Lorenzo Wind, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, has acquired the 80MW Fiber Winds project from Tri Global Energy in Texas.
Fiber Winds is the second phase of the Crosby County wind farm, the first phase of which came online in 2014.
Electricity from Fiber Winds, which is located in Crosby County, will be sold to Xcel Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement.
A third phase is planned to start operations by the end of 2020.
Tri Global Energy chairman and chief executive John Billingsley said: “We look forward to supporting NextEra in commencing project construction following regulatory approvals.”
