The EU has issued a call for proposals for environmental monitoring of wave and tidal energy devices.
The call, which is for €1.5m in grants under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), aims to reduce uncertainty in modelling potential impacts of future marine energy devices and increase environmental data on the effects of such technologies.
Interested parties have until 4pm CET on 19 January to apply, with successful applicants expected to be informed in May.
The projects would start in September next year, with progress reports submitted every six months, and run for no more than three years.
The EU expects to provide money for between two and four projects, with individual funding of €400,000 to €800,000.
