James Fisher Subsea Excavation (JFSE) has launched a new multi remote operated vehicle (ROV) system for clients in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors.
The company said the new system brings new levels of controllability and productivity for excavation.
The ROV reduces the services required from a vessel as it needs no stabilising tuggers or clump weights, while onboard thrusters allow movement and heading control that increase the operational window and productivity, JFSE said.
It can be deployed in water depths of over 3000 metres.
The system has a data hosting ability to run several survey sensors providing flexible options for real-time data that can be captured during operation.
Additional capabilities allow for the deployment and use of multiple other subsea tooling including shears, cutters and grabs, the company added.
The multi ROV has been developed with ROV specialist Aleron Subsea.
JFSE technical director Graham Murdoch said: “The multi ROV will bring real benefits to our clients with a range of challenging requirements. Automated heading and positioning controls greatly increase both productivity and the operational working limits.”
