Siemens has won turnkey contracts for electrical equipment and installation at two solar farms in Brazil and Pakistan with a combined capacity of 138MW.
Turkish company Zorlu Enerji Holding is the developer of the 100MW PV plant in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, while Quebec Engenharia is developing the 38MW Assurá project in Brazil.
The Pakistan order covers all electrical components for turnkey connection to the high-voltage grid, including 20 inverters from Wind & Sun Technologies, the transformer and medium-voltage switchgear.
The project, which will come online early next year, is expected to be expand to 300MW in the future.
Siemens is supplying seven 4.36 inverter stations for the project in Brazil, including the transformer and the medium-voltage switchgear. The solar plant will also come online early next year.
The German company also plans to manufacture its own inverter portfolio in India.
