UK developer Sonnedix has signed two framework agreements with two Chinese solar manufacturers for the global supply of equipment to accelerate the delivery of its 6GW global pipeline.
The first deal will see the supply of 750MWp of PV Modules from Astronergy, a global manufacturer in 140 countries.
The second contract is with inverter and energy storage system supplier Sungrow for 625MW of inverters and MV stations.
The two deals will provide key solar equipment for Sonnedix’s global pipeline over the coming 12 months, and will significantly reduce time spent on procurement processes, supporting its commitment to accelerating the delivery of projects key to the energy transition, said the company.
It added the announcements expand upon successful agreements signed with Astronergy and Sungrow last year, demonstrating Sonnedix’s focus on long term strategic partnerships.
They were signed at the Intersolar Europe exhibition in Munich, Germany, where the developer’s chief executive Axel Thiemann was present alongside its global head of E&C Jorge Amiano Goyarrola and members of its procurement team.
“The two agreements signed today with Astronergy and Sungrow demonstrate our strategy in action,” said Thiemann.
“They will be key to securing important equipment to accelerate the delivery of our 6GW development pipeline.
“The energy transition will not be possible without collaboration across the industry, and we’re excited to be continuing our partnerships with both Astronergy and Sungrow, working together to deliver renewable energy projects at pace and at scale.”
Astronergy chief marketing officer Samuel Zhang said: “We are thrilled to partner with Sonnedix in this significant venture.
“This agreement showcases our mutual commitment to accelerating the global energy transition.
“By providing our top-quality TOPCon PV modules, we are confident in supporting Sonnedix’s ambitious project pipeline, contributing to a more sustainable future, and we look forward to the impactful results this partnership will achieve.”
Sungrow Europe vice president Javier Izcue added: “We are delighted for this important agreement with Sonnedix.
“This partnership underscores our unwavering commitment to providing superior PV solutions globally. Sonnedix’s extensive experience, robust global presence and dedication to sustainability perfectly aligns with Sungrow’s core values.
“We look forward to this collaboration and advancing the transition to sustainable energy together for Clean power for all.”
