Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has completed the acquisition of Orsted’s European onshore platform and rebranded the business as Perigus Energy.
The company said the new business operates across Ireland, Germany, the UK and Spain with 826MW of capacity in operation or under construction.
It added Perigus Energy also has a multi-gigawatt development pipeline focused on onshore wind, solar and battery storage.
CIP noted the platform is backed by its CI V fund and retains existing contracts, partners and counterparties.
The company said the portfolio currently delivers electricity equivalent to around 600,000 European homes with additional projects under construction.
“Today marks the completion of an important transaction for CI V and a major milestone for continued growth in European onshore renewables,” said Kunal Patel, partner of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
“Perigus Energy combines a proven team, an established operating portfolio and a promising multi-gigawatt pipeline across core European power markets.”
“Perigus Energy is a very exciting next chapter in a long running renewable success story,” said Kieran White, chief executive officer of Perigus Energy.
“With Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on board, we will enhance our delivery capability across our multi-gigawatt investment-ready pipeline spanning onshore wind, solar and battery storage.”
