Dajin Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd has completed the maiden voyage of its KING ONE deck carrier to Tees Port.
The company said the vessel travelled nearly 12,000 nautical miles from Penglai Port, China to Steel River Quay carrying cargo for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.
Dajin added that KING ONE delivered eight XXL monopiles with a diameter of 10m and weight of over 1,200 tonnes each for the project.
The 40,000DWT deck carrier was designed and built entirely in-house by Dajin.
The vessel measures 240m in length, 51m in breadth and 13m in depth, with a deck area of 12,000 square metres.
The company said the vessel’s flexible design enables transport of offshore wind components including monopiles, jacket, floating foundations and large offshore engineering modules.
Dajin stated that the successful voyage marks a step in its move into shipbuilding and supports its ambition to become a global provider of integrated offshore wind solutions.
