HVR Energy has secured €12.75m in financing from the ICO to deploy 30 hydrogen refuelling stations in Spain.
The company said the funding supports its ACTIVA project and marks its second financing round in two years following a €7m loan for 20 stations last year.
HVR Energy added that the stations will be installed at existing service stations and offered under an all-inclusive leasing model without upfront investment for operators.
The project is supported by an additional €7.6m grant under the European Commission’s CEF AFIF programme, with the ICO acting as implementing partner.
HVR Energy has secured funding to develop 30 of the 38 hydrogen stations awarded across Europe in the latest CEF AFIF call.
The ACTIVA project aims to expand access to renewable hydrogen through modular and scalable infrastructure aligned with EU climate targets.
The initiative is designed to reduce barriers to hydrogen use in transport and support decarbonisation in line with AFIR objectives.
