Enersea has completed the detailed design of two offshore substation jackets for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.
The company said the jackets, Link 01 and Link 02, each weigh about 3500 tonnes and will support substations of around 9000 tonnes.
Enersea added it carried out detailed structural design and provided engineering support during fabrication under a subcontract from Heerema Fabrication Group.
Heerema Fabrication Group is responsible for the EPC scope of the jackets, while Aibel holds the EPC contract for the complete substations from developer Orsted.
The Link 01 jacket has already been installed, with Link 02 expected to be completed in August 2026.
Hornsea 3 is being developed by Orsted and will be one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms once operational.
