ABO Energy has commissioned a 16MW battery storage facility in Waldkappel in Hesse, Germany.
The company said the system has a storage capacity of 33MWh and can store enough energy to power nearly 10,000 two-person households overnight.
ABO Energy added that the project is the first developed in Germany for renewable infrastructure partner Field Energy.
The company noted that the project is its fourth stand-alone battery storage development in Germany and the first capable of delivering full power for more than two hours.
The system features a modular rack design rather than standard containers to enable faster installation and improved thermal management.
ABO Energy said battery storage plays a key role in supporting a secure, climate-friendly and flexible energy system.
