BNZ has signed two power purchase agreements with European utilities for the output of its Alamak and Alya solar plants in Cadiz, Spain.
The contracts, signed with a French and a German energy multinational, secure the sale of electricity from the projects for five years, the company said.
BNZ added that the Alamak plant has capacity of 24.1MW while the Alya facility totals 47.7MW.
Together the agreements cover 71.8MW of installed capacity and around 150GWh of annual generation.
The company noted that the projects strengthen its presence in Andalusia, where it manages more than 250MW of renewable capacity.
BNZ also operates the Santa Catalina plant in Jaen and the Hornosol, Terrera and Ventura photovoltaic complexes in Almeria.
“These agreements reflect the period of expansion the company is currently experiencing, as well as the trust that key market players place in our assets,” said Rodrigo López, director of revenue at BNZ.
“Our business model is evolving steadily; BNZ’s true strength today lies not only in developing reliable projects, but in applying cutting-edge energy management that enables us to structure long-term, flexible, and highly attractive solutions for the largest energy consumers in Europe.”
BNZ said it holds a global renewable energy portfolio exceeding 2.7GW across Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The company added that it plans to expand hybridisation projects and deploy battery energy storage systems as part of its strategy to maximise asset value and improve generation reliability.
