Geotechnical investigations have begun for TotalEnergies’ 2GW NordSee Energies 1 offshore wind project in the German North Sea.
The company said five specialised vessels have been mobilised to carry out surveys at around 140 investigation points up to 50 metres below the seabed.

TotalEnergies stated that the high-precision geological data will be used to design turbine foundations and inter-array cabling.
The company added that safety of operations and personnel is central to the project as it expands its offshore wind portfolio in Germany and across Europe.
