OX2 has completed and handed over the Lestijärvi wind farm to owners Kymppivoima, Oulun Energia and Kuopion Energia.
The company said the 455.4MW, 69-turbine project is Finland’s largest wind farm and will produce more than 1.3TWh a year.
It added that OX2 will continue to manage the project’s technical and financial operations.
“The completion of Finland’s largest wind farm marks a milestone not only for OX2 but for the country’s energy transition,” said Matthias Taft, CEO of OX2 AB.
“This EUR 650 million investment, owned by domestic stakeholders, strengthens Finland’s energy independence and creates long-term value for society,” Taft added.
“The Lestijärvi wind farm provides its owners with a significant source of renewable energy for the next 35 years and supports the energy transition in Finland with its production,” said Anders Renvall, CEO of Kymppivoima.
OX2 said it has five further wind projects under construction in Finland with total capacity of about 750MW.
