The UK government has appointed ScottishPower chief executive Keith Anderson (pictured) to its Industrial Strategy Advisory Council.
The government said the independent council reports to the chancellor and the business and trade secretary and brings together business and academic experts to advise on industrial strategy for growth.
It added that Anderson was named British Business Leader of the Year 2025 and has overseen Iberdrola’s largest ever investment programme in the UK.
ScottishPower will invest £24bn through to 2028 to rewire the grid, build clean power generation and support supply chain growth and job creation.
“I’m delighted to welcome Dana, Keith and Amelia to the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council,” said Dame Clare Barclay, chair of the council.
“Their leadership across creative industries, energy and defence will strengthen our work,” Barclay added.
Keith Anderson said: “The UK’s industrial strategy is critical to unlocking investment, pushing productivity, and driving growth.”
“At ScottishPower, we’re playing a critical role, investing a record £24 billion – including £10bn in Scotland – through to 2028 to rewire the grid and build more clean power, delivering thousands of skilled jobs right across the supply chain,” Anderson added.
ScottishPower stated that it has multiple projects under construction, including Eastern Green Link 1, a cross-border onshore transmission line and two offshore wind farms in its East Anglia Hub.
