Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has awarded support contracts to projects totalling 3456MW of capacity in the country’s latest EEG onshore wind tender round.
The agency said that it received a record bid volume of 8155MW from 905 bids for the tender, which had a bid deadline of 1 November 2025.
It added that 415 bids were successful with an average volume-weighted price of 6.06ct/kWh, lower than the previous round’s 6.57ct/kWh and significantly below the maximum value of 7.35ct/kWh.
The lowest winning bid was 5.80ct/kWh, while the highest winning bid was 6.12ct/kWh.
“The submitted bid volume of over 8GW represents the highest value ever recorded in a tender,” said Klaus Müller (pictured), President of BNetzA.
“Looking at the entire year of 2025, this means that every tender was thankfully oversubscribed. At the same time, the winning bids have continued to fall compared to the previous round.”
BNetzA said that most of the contracts were awarded to sites in North Rhine-Westphalia (1,093MW), followed by Lower Saxony (1,091MW). The third largest volume of contracts was awarded to projects in Brandenburg (262MW).
