ABS has issued approval in principle for Seatrium’s next-generation offshore substation design featuring 500MW modules.
Robert Langford, ABS vice president global renewables, said offshore substations are critical for transferring and exporting power from wind farms.
“This is a new offshore substation approach that supports large-scale renewable energy generation while meeting rigorous international safety and performance standards,” added Michael Kei, ABS vice president technology.
