GE Vernova has signed an agreement to supply 42 6.1MW–158m turbines for the 256MW Carmody’s Hill wind farm in South Australia.
The company said the deal with Aula Energy includes turbine supply and installation supported by a five-year full-service operation and maintenance agreement.
According to GE Vernova, the order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025 and follows an earlier contract for Aula Energy’s Boulder Creek Wind Farm in Queensland.
Carmody’s Hill is located about 7km east of Georgetown in the Mid-North region of South Australia.
“We are delighted to build on our successful collaboration with Aula Energy to bring another high-quality wind project to Australia,” said Gilan Sabatier, chief commercial officer for GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in international markets.
Sabatier added that deploying its 6MW-class platform at scale can streamline contracting, accelerate grid approvals and enhance quality and reliability across the fleet.
“We’re pleased to be partnering once again with GE Vernova to deliver Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm,” stated Aula Energy chief executive Chad Hymas.
Grid approval for Carmody’s Hill was achieved nine months after application submission.
GE Vernova said its 6MW-class platform has supported faster contract negotiation cycles and grid approval processes across multiple Australian states, the OEM stated.
