Orsted is considering legal proceedings in response to US President Donald Trump’s shutdown of all five in-construction wind farms in the country.
In a statement the company said: “Ørsted is evaluating all options to resolve the matter expeditiously, together with its partners.
“This includes engagement with BOEM and other permitting agencies as well as the evaluation of potential legal proceedings.”
The shutdown order, which suspends activities for 90 days, includes two Orsted project: 924MW Sunrise Wind, and 704MW Revolution Wind.
Revolution Wind was set to begin generating power next month, Orsted said.
Both wind farms “complying with the respective orders and are taking appropriate steps to suspend related activities in a manner that prevents impacts on health, safety, and the environment”, the developer said.
