Vind AI and Whiffle have partnered to integrate Whiffle’s high-accuracy atmospheric modelling into Vind AI’s digital platform for wind project assessment.
The companies said the move gives developers earlier access to precise site-specific wind data to support faster site screening and clearer go or no-go decisions.
Vind AI added that scenario testing will accelerate as Whiffle’s simulations run in hours rather than days.
The partners stated that combining modelling outputs within the platform removes fragmented tools and manual workflows in early development.
“Tech now makes it possible for wind projects to be designed using accurate data from the start,” said Vind AI chief executive and co-founder Helene Bohler.
She added that integrating Whiffle’s modelling reflects a wider shift toward a data-driven wind industry.
“Key decisions happen long before measurements are in place, and that’s where uncertainty and cost risks are highest,” said Whiffle chief technology officer Thijs van Winden.
He stated that embedding LES into the platform gives teams greater confidence when comparing scenarios without extra tools or workflows.
The next phase of the partnership will add Whiffle Atlas and turbine-specific LES time-series simulations, along with turbulence and flow-structure metrics for layout optimisation and AEP assessments.
