European Energy has secured Contract for Difference for five solar projects totalling 513MW in Sicily, Apulia and Molise.
The projects range from 20MW to 225MW and form a major photovoltaic pipeline under the FerX auction scheme, the company said.
The awards provide predictable price structures for each asset during operations, Alessandro Migliorini, director and country manager of Italy at European Energy, added.
One of the successful schemes is the Vizzini agri-PV solar park in Sicily, which will combine agricultural production with energy generation.
The company said the project will become Italy’s largest solar park once completed.
“This project underscores European Energy’s role in advancing Europe’s green transition,” said Thorvald Spanggaard, executive vice president and head of project development at European Energy.
“The company’s continued commitment to the Italian market is reflected in this development, which supports Italy’s renewable energy ambitions.”
European Energy has developed several solar and onshore wind parks in the country, including the Troia solar park completed in 2021.
It added that it has secured or signed 15 CfDs or power purchase agreements across its markets in 2025.
