Eneco has selected Deutsche Windtechnik as the new maintenance partner for the 120MW Prinses Amalia offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.
The agreement will take effect in January 2026 and will run until the wind farm’s end of life. Located 25km off IJmuiden, the project comprises 60 Vestas V80 turbines and has been operational since 2008.
Under the contract, Deutsche Windtechnik will provide full-scope maintenance and troubleshooting, including the deployment of permanent staff, tools, components, engineering support, and back-office services.
Operations will be managed jointly from shared facilities in IJmuiden, where Eneco and Deutsche Windtechnik will coordinate maintenance priorities, vessel use, and asset management to improve turbine availability and optimise energy output across the remaining operational years.
Eneco’s Remco Streppel said: “At Eneco, we value maintaining high production levels and reliability across our wind portfolio. Deutsche Windtechnik’s Geert Timmers said: “We are proud to strengthen our cooperation with Eneco and to take responsibility for maintaining this landmark offshore wind farm. Our focus will be on significantly improving turbine availability and optimising output through a transparent and cooperative approach.”
Timmers added that the partnership doubles Deutsche Windtechnik’s offshore service portfolio in the Netherlands and reinforces its commitment to supporting the country’s offshore wind sector.
