PNE Group has won two onshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 20800 KW in France’s 10th national tender for wind energy.
The company received awards for the Romescamps and Chéry wind farms, located in the Hauts-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions respectively.
Romescamps will comprise three turbines with a total capacity of 10.8MW and is scheduled to enter operation by the end of 2027, while Chéry will feature two turbines totalling 10MW, set to start generation in early 2029.
Through amendment approvals, PNE France has adapted both projects to meet new regulations and incorporate the latest turbine technology, enabling a significant increase in expected electricity generation compared with initial plans.
The company said that, combined with the competitive electricity price achieved in this tender round, the upgrades will deliver added value.
PNE chief operating officer Roland Stanze said: “We are delighted with this tender award. It represents continued success for us in the French market.
“Thanks to the efforts of the PNE France team, we were able to improve the economic performance of the wind farms during the process itself.
“In doing so, we are generating more clean power and making an even greater contribution to climate protection.”
