Sunotec has secured financing for seven renewable energy projects in Bulgaria totalling 115MWp of solar capacity and 763MWh of battery storage.
The investments include one co-located solar and storage site and six standalone Battery Energy Storage System projects.
They are owned either fully by Sunotec or through Solaris Holding, a 50/50 joint venture between Sunotec and the main shareholders of Eurohold Bulgaria.
Sunotec said the projects mark a major milestone in its evolution as both a turnkey solutions provider and a long-term renewable energy investor.
“With these investments, we are contributing to Bulgaria’s energy independence and to building a more resilient, flexible and renewable power system,” said Viktor Stefanov, head of IPP at SUNOTEC.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy has approved the standalone BESS projects to receive subsidies under the Restore programme, which supports large-scale storage deployment and grid stability.
Sunotec said the projects support the decarbonisation of Bulgaria’s power sector and its transition to a cleaner energy mix.
The company added that the achievement reinforces its and Solaris Holding’s position as leading investors in solar and storage, complementing existing operational assets in Pernik, Verinsko and Selanovtsi.
