PNE has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement with Infineon Technologies for the supply of green electricity from two wind farms in Brandenburg.
The semiconductor manufacturer will receive renewable power from the 24MW Schlenzer and Kittlitz III projects to supply its sites in Dresden, Warstein, Regensburg and Munich/Neubiberg.
Together, the two wind farms are expected to deliver around 550GWh of clean electricity over their lifetime.
“We’re pleased to support industrial companies such as Infineon in achieving their own climate and production decarbonisation targets,” said PNE chief operating officer Roland Stanze.
“This also shows that industry is still interested in long-term PPAs. Agreements like these enable companies to secure clean electricity on a predictable long-term basis in an uncertain market,” he added.
The deal was concluded amid challenging market conditions, with both producers and industrial buyers facing increased price volatility.
“This is why a balanced distribution of risk, innovative trading concepts and mutual trust are all the more important in such long-term partnerships,” said Christoph Reisky, senior PPA originator at PNE.
PNE said the agreement underscores the continuing role of long-term corporate PPAs in supporting industrial decarbonisation and expanding renewable generation in Germany.
