NESO has published an updated timeline for its grid connections reform process.
Customers will start being notified of the outcome of applications for priority queue positions no later than the first week of December, according to the GB system operator.
Gate 2 offers for transmission projects with protected 2026/27 connection dates will be made no later than the end of January 2026.
Developers handed Gate 2 connection dates up to and including 2030 will receive offers by the end of the second quarter of 2026, and post-2030 Gate 2 agreements will be issued by the end of the third quarter.
NESO said it will aim “wherever possible” to meet the milestones ahead of the “latest by” dates.
The committed delivery milestones will give customers “the certainty they need to make investment decisions and move projects forward with confidence”, and the roadmap will reduce project risk and “safeguard key programmes like Contracts for Difference auctions and the Regional Energy System Plan”, it added.
NESO chief operating officer Kayte O’Neill said: “Today NESO sets out the updated timeline to deliver connections offers to our customers as we continue the transformation of our electricity network.
“It is a crucial move towards achieving clean power by 2030 and will help drive economic growth across Great Britain.
“By focusing on agreements for projects that are both critical for 2030 and ready to proceed, developers gain the certainty needed to make investment decisions.”
