Dragados Offshore has started steel fabrication for the 2GW LanWin2 offshore grid connection project.
The milestone marks the beginning of block construction at subcontractor yards Cimolai in Italy and Eversandai in the UAE, the company said.

LanWin2 is a 2GW high-voltage direct current platform being delivered by Dragados Offshore and Siemens Energy for TenneT in Germany.
Dragados said the first blocks will be delivered to its Algeciras yard in Spain in the coming months for integration, equipment installation and testing.
The developer added the project reinforces its commitment to advancing Europe’s energy transition.
