The first monopile foundations for the 1500MW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland have been completed.
Orsted and joint venture partner PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna said the components, produced by EEW Group, measure up to 100 metres in length and 10.5 metres in diameter, weighing nearly 2000 tonnes.

Ørsted chief construction officer Patrick Harnett (pictured) said production is progressing on schedule, adding that Baltica 2 is a key part of the company’s 8.1GW global offshore wind construction programme for 2025 to 2027.
Baltica 2, which is set to become Poland’s largest offshore wind farm, is expected to enter operation in the second half of 2027, providing power for about 2.5 million homes.
