Red Rock has begun generating power from the 67MW Benbrack wind farm in Scotland after its energisation earlier this month.
The project is currently permitted to generate up to 20% of its total capacity – equivalent to operating three turbines – while final grid testing is completed.
Red Rock and turbine supplier Vestas are now in the final phase of commissioning, with commercial operations expected shortly.
Robbie Williamson, Benbrack project manager, said the milestone was a “significant” step for the business.
He added: “The fact we are now delivering clean electricity to the grid is a positive contribution to net zero and the reason we have spent the last four years developing this project.”
Construction of the project began in October 2022 following Red Rock’s acquisition of Benbrack in early 2021.
Once fully operational, the wind farm will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 60,000 Scottish homes.
