Ingeteam has helped to commission a 640MWdc solar park in Texas.
The company has supplied photovoltaic inverters for the Parliament Solar project, which is developed and managed by Parliament Energy.
The project (pictured) represents Ingeteam’s largest installation of photovoltaic inverters in the United States to date.
The PV farm, located in Waller County just outside the city of Houston, is expected to generate approximately 1100GWh of clean energy per annum – the equivalent of the annual energy consumption of around 140,000 homes in Texas.
Ingeteam’s scope for the Parliament solar project included the supply of 149 photovoltaic inverters. The scope of supply also included the commissioning work of the plant, carried out from the company’s production facility in Milwaukee.
Ingeteam’s vice president and general manager for solar PV and BESS in the US Nohra Nasr said: “Our experience in the market and the fact that we have a consolidated subsidiary on US soil have been key factors when awarding and executing the project.
“We hope it will be the first in a long list with this client.”
To date, Ingeteam has supplied more than 6GW of solar inverters and energy storage for the US market, a country it sees as having strong growth prospects in the renewables sector.
Based on a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) report, utility-scale solar capacity in the US exceeded that of nuclear power as of January 2024.
