ScottishPower chief executive Keith Anderson has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Strathclyde for his contribution to the UK’s clean energy transition.
The university said the award recognises Anderson’s role in leading the company’s transformation into the first integrated UK utility to go 100% green.
ScottishPower is now pursuing a £24bn investment programme to expand clean energy infrastructure, create jobs and support a fairer, sustainable future.
Anderson (pictured) said: “This is a huge honour – not just for me, but for everyone at ScottishPower who is working every day to deliver a cleaner, more affordable and more secure energy future that will benefit everybody.
“We’re not just talking about change – we’re building it. From windfarms to grid upgrades, from community support to climate action, our company is proving that a better future isn’t just possible – it’s already happening.”
University principal and vice-chancellor Jim McDonald said: “Keith’s leadership in clean energy is not only transforming the sector – it’s inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists and innovators.”
Earlier this year Anderson was named British Business Leader of the Year at the British Business Awards for his contribution to the energy sector and wider UK economy.
