Mingyang said it is “fully committed” to the European wind market after mutually agreeing to step away from Luxcara’s 300MW Waterkant project in the German North Sea.
The Chinese OEM issued a statement on Monday afternoon saying it is aiming to support a number of projects in the region.
The statement comes after Luxcara signed a reservation agreement with Siemens Gamesa for Waterkant, replacing an earlier agreement with Mingyang for the scheme signed last year.
“Mingyang can confirm that it is no longer involved in the Waterkant project, following a mutual agreement with the project’s developer Luxcara,” the Mingyang statement reads.
“Mingyang sees many opportunities and is supporting a range of projects in the region, remains fully committed to serving the European market with reliable, innovative, and sustainable clean energy solutions.”
The company added: “We deeply value our partnerships with customers, suppliers, and communities across Europe.
“Moving forward, Mingyang will continue to invest in technological innovation, strengthen local collaborations and explore opportunities to build a local production base and contribute to Europe’s green transition and shared sustainable future.”
