Petrovietnam has signed a joint development agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners for offshore wind projects in Vietnam.
The deal was formalised with the participation of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam.
Petrovietnam said the partnership underlines its strategic role in the country’s energy transition towards net zero by 2050.
The company added that the cooperation combines its offshore expertise, infrastructure and workforce with CIP’s global experience, technology and financing capacity.
According to Petrovietnam, the agreement will also provide a foundation for a domestic supply chain, create jobs, attract green investment and support Vietnam’s position as a regional clean energy hub.
Petrovietnam’s leadership said the cooperation aims not only to deliver offshore wind projects but also to establish a long-term clean energy industry in Vietnam.
The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies in March 2024.
Petrovietnam and CIP said the JDA reaffirms their shared vision to accelerate Vietnam’s clean energy transition and strengthen national energy security.
