Ocean Winds has installed half of the turbines at the 496MW Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm in France.
The marker means 30 of the 61 Siemens Gamesa units are now in place, with the project already generating power equivalent to the needs of about 400,000 people, or half the population of Vendée.

Ocean Winds said the achievement represents both half of the project’s total capacity and significant progress in its French offshore portfolio.
The developer added that the build-out reflects the efforts of its teams and partners including Jan De Nul, the Grand Port Maritime de Nantes Saint-Nazaire, and a range of local subcontractors.
