GustoMSC said the DEME Offshore’s newbuild Norse Wind has completed a full-height jacking test at the CIMC Raffles Offshore yard.
The test was performed at 124 metres leg length, equivalent to 91 metres above seabed.
According to GustoMSC, the campaign verified structural integrity, mechanical performance and safety systems under simulated offshore conditions.
GustoMSC provided the complete vessel and jacking system design and delivered the jacking system for Norse Wind and sister vessel Norse Energi, it said.
Belgian contractor DEME will operate the vessel once complete.
The NG20000X-class turbine installation vessels are engineered to install the world’s largest offshore wind turbines and handle XXL monopiles in water depths up to 70 metres, GustoMSC said.
