Seabed preparation is underway for the 1500MW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, a joint project of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Orsted.
Boskalis vessel BOKA Falcon has arrived in Polish waters to clear large boulders along the planned cable routes.
The ship is equipped with two specialist ploughs, named T-Rex and Megalodon. T-Rex will remove several dozen massive boulders from the wind farm area, while Megalodon will dig precise trenches for the cable installation.
The works are part of preparations to lay and bury about 300km of export cables and 170km of internal cables, scheduled for 2026.
Baltica 2 will feature 107 turbines with a total capacity of 1.5GW, enough to generate electricity equivalent to the consumption of around 2.5 million households.
