Ming Yang Smart Energy has connected its first wind turbine in Brazil, delivering an initial kilowatt-hour of clean electricity to local residents.
The milestone was achieved at a project in Rio Grande do Norte developed by Brazilian utility Copel – Companhia Paranaense de Energia, which operates a diversified portfolio of hydro, wind, and solar assets nationwide.
The pilot installation features the MySE 6.25-172 model, designed for robust performance, grid compliance, and cost-effectiveness in dynamic market conditions, according to the Chinese OEM.
Ming Yang said the turbine’s commissioning followed a comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation by Copel, demonstrating the competitiveness of its technology and its ability to provide full engineering, logistics, installation, commissioning, and future O&M services.
“This first grid connection in Brazil is more than a technical achievement,” the company said. “It symbolises trust, partnership, and our commitment to advancing Brazil’s clean energy future.”
