Fred Olsen Renewables has taken its 64MW Paul’s Hill onshore wind farm in Scotland offline following the outbreak of a wildfire near the location in Moray.
The developer said emergency fire crews are working to tackle the blaze which is “in the vicinity” of the 28-turbine array near Elgin.

“There is no immediate threat to people, or damage to our infrastructure, but as a precaution we have temporarily halted production at the wind farm,” it said in a statement.
“Fred Olsen Renewables has activated its emergency response organisation and is working closely with the relevant authorities to manage the situation.”
Paul’s Hill features Siemens 2.3MW hardware and was commissioned in 2006.
