Bernhard Schulte Offshore has taken delivery of its new Commissioning Service Operation Vessel ‘Windea Curie’ from Ulstein Verft, ahead of deployment on a charter to offshore grid operator TenneT.
The 89.6m vessel will support TenneT’s offshore transmission platforms in the North Sea, providing safe and efficient access for maintenance and commissioning crews.
“Our new ‘Windea Curie’ is an excellent addition to our offshore fleet,” said BSO managing director Matthias Müller.
The vessel features Ulstein’s TWIN X-STERN design, hybrid battery propulsion and methanol-ready systems to reduce fuel use and motion at sea.
TenneT’s Erik Hiensch said: “This state-of-the-art CSOV will play an important role in supporting our operations in the North Sea.”
The ship includes a walk-to-work gangway, 3D compensated crane, and accommodation for up to 132 personnel.
A sister ship is under construction at Ulstein for delivery in August 2025, which will expand BSO’s fleet to five offshore service vessels.
