Cero Generation has brought its 48MWp Castrum solar PV project in Montalto di Castro, Italy online.
The 86-hectare site features over 88,000 bifacial modules on single-axis trackers and is expected to generate around 90GWh of clean electricity annually.
Power will be sold under a long-term, subsidy-free power purchase agreement with Centrica Energy.
Cero said the project will avoid 30,929 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year and provide electricity equivalent to the needs of 34,701 households.
The developer also incorporated land stewardship and biodiversity features into the project, maintaining agricultural activity across the site and planting trees to support local ecosystems.
