European Energy has completed the sale of a Polish wind portfolio to Enea Group.
The 83.5MW operational wind portfolio, located in the north-west of the country, has been sold to Enea Nowa Energia, a subsidiary of the Polish energy utility.
Under the transaction, Enea Nowa Energia will own 100% of EE Pommern GmbH, the indirect owner of five operational wind farms – Grzmiąca (pictured), Białogard 1, Kołobrzeg, Drawsko 2, and Siemyśl – totalling 44.7MW.
In addition, Enea Nowa Energia will take a 100% ownership stake in EE Liskowo sp. z o.o., which owns the 38.8MW Liskowo wind farm.
All six wind farms, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, were commissioned between 2021 and 2023 and utilise wind turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa, GE, and Nordex.
“This divestment represents a significant milestone in our long-term strategy for Poland,” said Olga Sypula, country manager for Poland at European Energy.
“Our commitment extends beyond development – we are contributing to a sustainable energy future while supporting local communities and infrastructure.”
European Energy says it has maintained a strong presence in Poland since 2006, engaging with local communities and supporting initiatives in education, healthcare, and public services.
The company has pledged to continue to prioritise local partnerships and value creation in its renewable energy projects.
Deputy chief executive Jens-Peter Zink said: “We will utilise the funds to advance and expand our Polish project development on all technological fronts.
“Poland remains a core market with high growth potential, particularly in battery storage, hybrid systems, and green hydrogen.”
European Energy’s development pipeline in the Polish renewable energy sector now exceeds 5GW.
