Several employees of the company took to social media today to express shock and sadness at the move.
Beam has been contacted for comment.
The Bristol-headquartered technology company specialised in AI and autonomy on robotic ships and underwater vessels to provide services to the offshore wind sector. It had additional offices in Scotland and the US.
It was rebranded as Beam last year following a merger between Rovco and Vaarst with plans to pursue global expansion.
