Dajin has set up a dedicated floating wind unit based in Madrid, Spain, to strengthen its capabilities as a global supplier of foundations for the offshore wind industry.
Carlos Martin (pictured), Walid Oulmane, Francisco Villazón and Corentin Thepaut will join Dajin as part of its newly created floating wind team this month.
Under the leadership of Martin, founder of BlueFloat Energy, the floating wind team will contribute to Dajin achieving its mission of delivering a one-stop floating foundation solution – spanning manufacturing, transportation, assembly, and final delivery.
This is designed to support developers and EPC contractors in reducing costs and accelerating large-scale commercialisation, Dajin said.
Former chief executive of BlueFloat Energy (until February 2025), Martin brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector.
He has developed exceptional expertise in floating offshore wind projects, spanning development, financing, construction, and execution.
He was the project director of the 25MW WindFloat Atlantic project at EDP Renewables (EDPR) until 2017, the first floating wind project to secure a bank finance structure.
His strategic vision, extensive experience in managing large-scale projects across multiple countries, and ability to build strong partnerships will be key in leading our Floating Wind activities, Dajin said.
The division’s new chief commercial officer Walid Oulmane served as head of sourcing and ports at BlueFloat Energy until February 2025.
Francisco Villazón, who has been appointed as head of engineering for floating wind, held the same role at BlueFloat Energy, including being involved in developing the floating foundations for projects such as Hywind Scotland, WindFloat Atlantic and Kincardine.
Corentin Thepaut , former technical manager for BlueFloat Energy, will serve as tender manager for floating wind.
