SP Energy Networks has launched a new podcast, bringing together experts and academics to delve into the role of electricity on the route towards a green future.
The ‘Powering Conversations’ podcast fosters in-depth discussions on the future of energy, sustainability, and innovation.
It aims to engage the general public, industry experts, and stakeholders on critical issues and opportunities facing the energy sector.
The episodes will provide a platform for varied perspectives on how different industries and organisations can work together to tackle key challenges and push forward towards a cleaner, greener future.
The podcast is hosted by Caroline Blair, who helps to guide the conversations and discussions across a range of topics from renewable energy to smart grid technology.
In episode one, Blair is joined by Scott Mathieson, network planning and regulation director at SP Energy Networks, Kathleen Davis, commercial director at the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC) and Dave Roberts, chief technology officer at EA Technology.
The group (pictured) discuss how the electricity network will be transformed to meet net-zero targets, and how energy companies must evolve to meet demand.
Mathieson said: “It’s really exciting to launch our Powering Conversations podcast. The conversation around the push towards a net-zero future is something that impacts us all so we’re committed to bringing the discussion to as wide an audience as possible.
“We’re thrilled to have been able to bring such a diverse range of voices and perspectives, expertly guided in the discussions by Caroline, and we hope to inspire even further change and innovation across the sector.”
Season One of the podcast will explore a range of topics, from how the electricity grid is evolving, through to the future of electric transport as well as what the next generation of green communities will look like.
Blair said: “It’s fantastic to be involved in this project with SP Energy Networks. As a business, it does so much to educate and enact change towards a clean energy future and I’m thrilled to be playing my part in spreading this message and its importance to a range of audiences through the Powering Conversations series.”
