Qualitas Energy has appointed Johannes Overbeck as co-chief executive officer for the German business.
The German business, a subsidiary of the Qualitas Energy Group, specialises in the acquisition, financing, project development, construction, and operation of onshore wind turbines.
Overbeck (pictured right) will serve alongside Borja Caruana (left), who has been chief executive officer of the German business since 2021.
In 2024, Qualitas Energy achieved its investment targets, expanding its development pipeline to a total capacity of 3GW and managing over 100 projects across Germany.
The company says the evolution of its German leadership structure is a step to support its growth trajectory in the years ahead.
Overbeck, who joined Qualitas Energy in August 2023 as head of investment, will have responsibility for the areas of investment, structured finance, finance, and legal.
Caruana will continue to focus on the project development, EPC, operations, and corporate services departments.
The company is intensifying efforts to expand its project pipeline, targeting a total capacity of 4GW in the German wind energy sector.
Caruana said: “This enhanced structure positions us to achieve our ambitious goals efficiently, respond with agility to market challenges, and drive significant progress in project approvals, construction starts, and continued investment in project expansion.”
Overbeck added: “I am looking forward to working with Borja and our exceptional team to further drive the energy transition in Germany.”
