Polish developer R Power has launched three new solar farms in Portugal with a total capacity of 22MW.
The new solar farms, located in Tremes, Alhais, and Elvas, have already been connected to the Portuguese power grid.
R Power plans to commission additional projects in Portugal later this year, increasing its operational solar portfolio in the country to approximately 35MW.
The Tremes facility, situated in the Santarem region, uses fixed mounting structures, while the farms in Alhais (Pombal region) and Elvas (Alentejo region) are equipped with tracking systems that optimise sunlight capture throughout the day.
In total, more than 40,000 solar panels have been installed across 45 hectares.
These investments are part of R Power’s expansion in Europe, where the company is actively developing solar and wind energy projects in Poland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania and Germany.
All three solar farms were constructed by Nomad Electric Services, which will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services.
