Polhem Infra joins Prime Capital for 265MW of Swedish wind

Polhem Infra and Prime Capital have entered a partnership for the construction of the 265MW Lynx onshore wind portfolio in Lycksele, Sweden.

The Fjällberg, Vinliden and Hornmyran wind farms are expected to start construction in 2027.

The €420m partnership will bring some 1TWh of energy to Sweden.

The portfolio also includes a regulated grid company connecting the wind farms to the regional grid through a new substation and that will manage a 70 km new 170 kV overhead line.

“We are thrilled to partner with Prime Capital on this portfolio enabling much needed large-scale renewable energy production for the Swedish energy transition and electricity demand increase over the coming decades”, Polhem Infra CEO Anna Elmfeldt said.

“It demonstrates that there are very good renewable energy projects in Sweden that can provide long term attractive returns this portfolio provides a much welcome addition of cost-efficient renewable energy production and another step in fulfilling Polhem Infra’s dual mission of investing on long term assets that generate both strong risk-adjusted return as well as providing societal critical infrastructure.”

Heal of Infrastructure at Prime Capital Mathias Bimberg said: “I am proud and very excited about the new partnership with the Polhem Infra’s team for Lynx and for the continued joint development of this high-quality portfolio”.

“This marks the last construction project for our Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund I. We will continue our activities through our second fund with an increased focus on eFuels supporting Nordic economies turning into hydrogen economies.”
