Enel Green Power has reported a doubling in earnings before interest, tax and depreciation (EBIT) in the first nine months of 2024 compared with same period in 2023.
The Enel business line which develops and operates wind and solar plants reported €4.4bn in EBIT in the 9M in 2024 compared with €2.2bn in the same period in 2023.
Ordinary earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the 9M 2024 reached €5.6bn compared with €3.6bn in the same period in 2023.
Enel Green Power increased its installed renewables capacity from 55.5GW in 9M 2023 to 56GW in 9MW 2024.
Generation from renewable sources far exceeded that from thermal generation, reaching 102.02 TWh (93.99 TWh in the same period of 2023, +8.5%), compared with thermal generation of 25.87 TWh (44.92 TWh in the same period of 2023, -42.4%).
In 2024 the Enel group plans investments in distribution networks focused on geographical areas with a more balanced and clearer regulatory framework, especially in Italy, selective investments in renewables, aimed at maximising the return on invested capital and minimising risks and active management of the customer portfolio through multi-play bundled offers.
