Orix subsidiary Elawan Energy has signed a PPA with telecommunications firm Cellnex, which includes the supply of renewable energy from one wind project and three solar projects, with a total capacity of 200MW.
The agreement represents a key strategic step forward for Elawan in the renewable energy sector, the developer said.
The projects will provide Cellnex with more than 400,000MWh of renewable power per year and will certify the electricity consumed comes from renewable sources, thus supporting the energy transition and the reduction of carbon emissions.
Thanks to this PPA with Cellnex, the largest European operator of telecommunications towers and infrastructure, Elawan Energy will guarantee stable prices for all energy produced by the projects, the company said.
