Orlen Group has finalised a deal with EDP Renewables Polska to acquire two solar farms and a wind farm in Poland with a total capacity of over 300MW.
The PV arrays are located in the provinces of Zielona Gora and Poznan and the wind site is in the province of Lodz.
As a result of the transaction, Orlen has expanded its renewable energy capacity by nearly one-third and now has approximately 580MW of installed capacity in onshore wind farms and over 350MW in solar projects.
The first PV array, with a capacity of 40MW, located in Chotkow in Zielona Gora, was launched in January this year.
The second, situated in the Przykona municipality in Poznan, has a capacity of 200MW and is undergoing expansion by another 40MW, scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
As part of the transaction with EDP Renewables Polska, Orlen also acquired the Warta wind farm, commissioned in May last year in Lodz.
The 26MW asset is located in a high-wind area, ensuring optimum utilisation of the installed capacity.
