Peak Wind has been awarded the operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for the 495MW Buffalo Plains wind farm in Alberta, Canada.
The contract starts on 1 October 2024.
The asset management agreement (AMA) will provide full scope management on behalf of the owner, including HSE, finance, commercial, operational and balance of plant management.
Buffalo Plains (pictured), which is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through a fund it manages, entered construction in 2023 and began delivering power last month.
The site spans over 17500 acres and hosts 83 Siemens Gamesa turbines comprising the 5.2MW and 6.6MW platforms.
The management of Buffalo Plains expands Peak Wind’s fast-growing global portfolio, including 2.1GW of wind assets under management, with around 700MW in North America, 500MW in Europe and 900MW of offshore wind in Taiwan.
Peak Wind co-founder and head of asset management Denis Nornberg Andersen said: “Buffalo Plains is a flagship project in Canada’s renewable energy landscape, and we are proud to take on its management.
“Our focus will be on ensuring its continued success by maximising operational efficiency, boosting performance, and delivering strong, reliable results for our partners and stakeholders.
“This project is a testament to our capabilities and reinforces our growth in North America.”
